ELECTRONIC POOL
DOWNLOADING AND UNPACKING THE GAME
Electronic Pool for the ST is held in a file called POOLST.ARC. You need to
download this file.
The files have been compressed using ARC version 6.02. If you do not have a
copy of ARC602, you can download a copy from the Software Club ST Library.
Double click on ARC.TTP and type in the command to unarc the files. The
command is:
X (path\filename) (destination)
For example, if you wanted to unarc the file POOLST.ARC on the disk in drive
A: to the disk in drive B:, you would type:
X A:\POOLST.ARC B:\*.*
If you omit the destination, then the unarced files will be placed in the same
directory or disk as arc itself.
INSTALLING THE GAME
Copy all the files from the arced file (there should be 5 files) onto a blank
floppy disk.
RUNNING THE GAME
Put the disk into Drive A: and turn on the computer. When the desktop appears,
double-click on COLOR.PRG to run the game with a colour monitor or TV, and
MONO.PRG to run in mono.
When the title screen appears you will see three small boxes in the top right
hand corner - 1-PLAYER, 2-PLAYER and NUMBER OF FRAMES. Click on the desired box
using the mouse.
Your mouse pointer is a small white cross. Put the cross where you wish to aim
the white ball. Use the right mouse button to determine how much power you want
to put behind the shot. Then click the left button to shoot.
Your aim in a 1-player game is to pocket all the balls as quickly as possible
in as few shots as possible.
Your aim in a 2-player game is to beat your opponent.
F1 returns you to the title screen.
F2-F10 are fun keys that do not interfere with the game... but may seriously
impair your control of the balls!
